Wow! BD has gotten a lot more active than I ever expected. For a few weeks there I thought it was never going to get going, but you all proved me wrong. I'm so excited that there is actually activity. I'll be running an activity check sometime soon, so be ready. We'll also start the first MOTM on May 1st, so get posting so I can add you to the canidates list.

Martilia is a prestigious international high school, located in a small town in the Swiss alps. Though it calls itself a high school, it covers college material as well. Nobody is quite sure when it was established, but all of a sudden its alumni were pouring into the job market, all of whom managed to get high-level high-paying jobs.

Qualified applicants are often turned away from the school, the demand for spaces is so great. But for every dozen turned away, one makes it onto the waiting list. For every dozen of those, a student is actually accepted.

But, one of the more curious aspects of the school is that it frequently accepts non-applicants. It researches students who would never dream of getting in if they applied, and requests that they come in for an interveiw. These students are always accpeted.

That's not all of the oddities surrounding the school. Each graduating class is a tightly knit group, never quite breaking ties with their school days. If an alumnus marries somebody outside of the school, their spouse is reviewed by their team captain.

Many of the graduates have no record of existing prior to their attending the academy. What the public doesn't realize, is that Martilia is more than just a school. It is a way-station, where nonhumans may be integrated into human society. Sirens, vampires, and other such beings are brought into the school at a [relatively] young age. They assimilate with the human students, who have been hand-picked to mesh well with them. They learn to pass as human, free of persecution and fear.

Verona is a small town that lies on the outskirts of Hollywood. Its a pretty peaceful town that is filled with a lot of hardworking people. Everyone in Verona knows each other, but maybe a little bit too well. News travels quickly around the small town and if one person knows something than everyone does. People just can't seem to keep their mouth's shut here. Sometimes it tends to get people in trouble. Disputes happen among the people all the time and the little town is far from peaceful.

The youth of Verona steers clear of all of the elderly drama. Instead, they focus on the future that is ahead of them. Being so close to Hollywood, a lot of the young people here dream of stardom. Making it in the big time and becoming famous. Although a lot of their career choices differ all of the basic dreams are the same. Each and every one of them wants to make it to the big time. To have people know their name and to be worth millions of dollars.

Now, in show biz not everyone can make it to the top. That is just the way it is, but the kids of Verona won't quit. They'll keep at it until they make it in the big time. These kids don't care who they hurt, who they have to manipulate, or what the have to do as long as they get out of the sad little town they call home. They all wants better, bigger lives outside of their boring town, but will stardom really bring them that? Will the pressure of it all make them or break them?

In this little town anything it possible. Some will make it big, while other bust. Only the strong will survive in this dog eat dog world. If you think you're strong enough than hop of for the wild ride that is in store when you join the crazy little town of Verona.
